The Web Design Process South Florida Technology and Web Design for the Small Office / Home Office professional

This article will provide the breakdown of Blue Hand’s overall web design process, from beginning to launch, to give you a great insight into the process you will experience when working with Blue Hand Web Design of Florida.

Before you contact us for a consultation, there are a few things that you should have thought about beforehand in order for the consultation to go as smoothly as possible and so that we are able to give you an accurate pricing plan and timeline for your web design project. Before consultation, it is helpful if you first consider your budget and exactly what you want out of your site.

  • As for Budget, you should have an idea of what you would like to spend on a website, if you have budget constraints.  It is important to mention your budget to us because when we discuss the overall functionality of your site, we will be able to discuss what we can and cannot do per your budget and find other solutions if your budget is too low to achieve the desired functionality.  We will work with your budget, and you can always be sure that you will be the proud owner of a fully functional, aesthetically pleasing website no matter your budget.

  • Also, before consultation, you should have an idea of what sort of functionality you wish to achieve out of your new website.  Things you should consider include

    • How many pages you think you will need

    • If you require any custom programming such as shopping carts or forms

    • What level of search engine optimization you would like to take your site to

    • If you require any sort of flash animation

Web Design Process – Budget & Pricing

At Blue Hand Web Design, we work with your budget and the scope of work to determine a fair, appropriate price for each website.  The majority of the websites we design and develop at Blue Hand Web Design are under $3000, and most of these are rather extensive, including forms, media and the first step of your search engine optimization plan.

Web Design Process - The Design

We work with you to create a design that you and/or your company will be proud to say is their design.  All of our designs are unique to the individual client and are fully customizable.  The first step of the design process is in the first consultation call.  During this call or meeting you will describe to the web design team at Blue Hand Web Design an idea of what you want your website to look like, including colors and potentially other sites you have seen on the web that you like.

All of this will be taken into consideration when an initial design is created for you.  For this design to be created, it is requested that you send over your company logo and slogan, along with some images you think you might want on your site.  You will have an initial design within a week of consultation, providing we have the necessary materials from you.  Content is not necessary at this point, as placeholders can be utilized.  Image placeholders will be used as well if images are not provided at this point.

Once we send you the design, it is up to you to notify us of any modifications you would like made.  An open line of communication is important in this web design process, and Blue Hand Web Design will be sure to make this process as simple as possible.

Web Design Process - The Content

In the content phase of the web design process, all of the pages are filled with content, describing you or your company, your services, and any other information you need on your site.  There are two options for this content phase.  Either you, the client, can provide all of the content needed, including images and text for your website, or we, the web designers, can create the content for you for an additional fee.  If you go with the second option, once we have written the content, you will still be responsible for modifying the content to ensure the relevance to your website.

Once the content is provided or written, the rest of the inside pages will be created and linked appropriately.

Web Design Process – Finalization & Search Engine Optimization

Once the site is fully created and linked, it is up to the client to approve the site once we send it to you.  If there are any changes you wish to be made, simply send over an email detailing these changes and they will be made as soon as possible.

Initial on-page search engine optimization is included in the design and development of every site we imagine at Blue Hand Web Design.  This includes custom, keyword rich Title tags for each page, alt tags for images and links throughout the site.  Also, your site will be set up with Google analytics and a sitemap will be created and submitted to Google to ensure that  Google will be able to index your website.  Your site will be submitted to Dmoz, an open source directory, as a part of this initial SEO.

After this initial SEO, it is important that you continue your search engine optimization campaign to improve your overall organic rankings in the search engines so that you can drive business to your site and your company..  Blue Hand Web Design can get you started with a monthly SEO campaign, where your site will be closely monitored at all times, backlinks will be applied for in order to improve your Google page rank, and monthly reports will be provided including traffic and keyword rankings.  SEO is a long process, and it can take many months to begin seeing results, but if you are serious about building your web appearance, it is a necessary step to take.

Overall, this is how we do web design and development at Blue Hand Web Design of Florida.  Contact us today for more information or to get started building your appearance on the web!
